Transcript:
What are you writing?
A hard-hitting exposé.
Can I take a look at it?
If you think you can handle it; it hits pretty hard.
“It may shock and disturb our readers to learn that the main ingredient at a certain popular fried chicken franchine is actually chicken.”
What’s a franchine?
I’m glad you asked that: a franchise, as you know, is a group of individually owned commercial venues maintained under the supervision of a larger organization.
A franchise becomes a franchine when it strays so far from the original company model as to become unrecognizable as a part of said franchise.
Franchine, as you may have guessed, is a portmanteau of the words franchise and…uh…un-genuine…yeah.
You wouldn’t be making this up just to cover for the fact that you left a typo in your report, would you?
Don’t be obsurd (absurd).
