I've come to a realization recently that creators often ruin their own work by talking about the themes and ideas too much, which warps what might be a cool story in a vacuum that people can interpret into being seen in a very specific lens. Considering a big part of this story is different character's ideologies and perspectives clashing, I think I'm gonna quiet down on my own views on the character's views and really keep from engaging with the themes from the outside as an author. I'm sure you can guess that Julian and Naga are both aspects of my own personality, but being fictional characters who exist to serve a plot, they've also been tweaked and become their own men in time. Also, something something Le epic LGBT representation or whatever. (I feel like this is only going to increase outside reader's confusion on Naga's gender, people keep thinking he's a girl)
