Je ne me demande pas pourquoi "the villain bent on killing everyone in sight just stands there with his weapon while the hero gives a speech". Tous les méchants rafollent des discours du héros. (c'est d'ailleurs pour entendre des discours du héros qu'ils deviennent méchants, les méchants)
Surmonter l'insurmontable c'est ce qu'il y a de mieux à surmonter.
