Transcript: Vending machines confuse me. Just be sure to always carry crisp, new bills and make sure the president is facing in the right direction. No, it’s not that: I just don’t understand why they call them vending machines. Uh, because they’re machines…that vend. Don’t listen to that cluck! Vending machines got their name because before card readers, you had to pay using either dollar bills or coins… So when you put the money in, the machine would either go “vvvn” or “ding”. Oh, well, that makes sense. There’s not a bit of truth to it, but it makes sense.
