Transcript: The first thing you want to do when writing a new comic strip is to think up funny character names. Poindexter is hilarious. Why? Why? Because it is, that’s why! Maybe because your mother’s name was Poindexter. How’s that for a reason? My mother’s name wasn’t Poindexter - and she wasn’t particularly funny. She was always quite serious and morose - constantly lamenting the chicken condition. What was her name? Wilma Wanda Winkenwerder.
